Greetings, CITASA friends --

I am delighted to announce that the 2008 CITASA ASA special issue
of "Information, Communication and Society" (iCS) is now available on
line!

On behalf of all the guest editors, editorial assistants, authors, and
the generous and hardworking staff at iCS and Routledge, I invite you
have a look at a lovely smmorgasboard of the very diverse kinds of
work we do in this section. :)

More information about Volume 12 Issue 4, 2009 -- otherwise known
as "Diversity: the second annual special issue of the communication
and information technologies section of the American Sociological
Association" -- is posted here:

c~order=page

Don't forget, as a special bonus, four more papers from last year's
conference will be featured as a special section of another issue
later this year. We'll let you know when to look for that one,
too. :)

This is so important for our section -- finally, a place we can
highlight some of the great work presented each year -- and get some
hard-won publications out of it, to boot. For those who submit their
conference papers and get selected, it's a great two-fer. :)

Take a look. Then, if you think the issue looks good, you feel left
out, and/or you're thinking of submiting your own 2009 ASA conference
paper for next year's special issue, you'll find the Call for Papers
here:

Note that the 2010 special issue will be co-edited by Gustavo Mesch
and Shanyang Zhao. Thank you Gustavo and Shanyang!

How to access the special issue:

First, two articles, Chen/Wellman and L. Robinson, will be available
for free to anyone from the ICS website for the next three months.
The staff at iCS are setting that up right now.

Second, thanks to the generousity of iCS and Routledge, all CITASA
members who have paid their 2009 membership dues will soon receive an
email coupon that will give them 3 free months of access to all
articles in the special issue.

Third, Section members are eligible for a discount on an iCS
subscription.

This will soon be posted to the section website, too,

Cheers, everyone, from your special issue co-editor and rising Chair-
Elect! :)
